About Me

My name is Kristina Davis and I’m a curious, detail-oriented UX Designer who enjoys organizing information, story-telling, and being an advocate for users.

My academic background is in Communication Design which allows me to blend both creativity and functionality in my designs. This versatility enables me to craft visually engaging interfaces while maintaining a strong focus on intuitive navigation and user experience.

I’ve been told that my thought processes to my designs are “refreshing”, often finding connections others may overlook. This perspective allows me to think outside the box and consider innovative approaches to different challenges.

How I found UX

I discovered my love for UX Design during the last year of my BFA in Communication Design. Up until then, my classes focused primarily on branding and required a lot of drawing. I often felt self conscious about my drawing skills compared to my classmates, and it left me questioning if design was even the right path for me.

That all changed when I was tasked to design an app for my Branding Systems class. There, I realized how much I enjoyed designing interfaces. I mean, all I had to draw were lines and rectangles!

UX Design became the perfect balance for me. Creating prototypes and layouts satisfied both my analytical and artistic sides while fulfilling my love for organizing and structure. I fell down the UX rabbit hole and haven’t
looked back since.

This past year, I graduated from Austin Community College with an Associates of Applied Science in User Experience Design.

First app design in branding systems class. I’ve come a long way since 2017!

Not-UX Hobbies

Writing. Primarily short stories and poetry.

Music. I’m a classically trained mezzo-soprano (or a “middle voice”) and have performed both solo and with various ensembles for almost 15 years.

Creating Spotify playlists (currently have 50 and counting!), telling dad jokes, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.

(Fourth from left on top row). Singing one of my last performances with the Texas State Treble Choir. 2018.
